Shadow Fur

I want to share about my oldest kitty, Shadow. He turned seven years old this year, in May. I got him when he was only a tiny eight weeks old! He’s grown so big that he doesn’t like to be picked up. He’s so heavy that he doesn’t feel safe when doing so. I am able to lift him but it’s quite the chore to make sure he’s well supported so he doesn’t freak out. He does trust me. But it’s just better if we leave him be.

He’s a beautiful Blue, long-furred friend, except the fact that he’s the most self-centered, spoiled cat I have ever had! I am pretty sure he owns us. LOL. In time, although my daughter got him for me, he simply took to my husband. Don’t know why, but my husband needed more training that the kitty did! LOL! All about how to love a kitty, lessons on kitty communication, treat giving vs. petting time. LOL. It was an experience. All for the kitty to be the happiest I could make him, while doing it through a second being. It unfortunately left me alone, still missing the kitty my daughter tried to replace after many years.

I think this must be the difference in males and females. I always had female kitties, but Shadow is a full fledged male, with an attitude to go with it. He’s a joy, but he’s not as close to me as I would have hoped he’d be. I love him dearly, He came and butted his head against mine during the night. He has his ways of showing love, on his terms! lol

By the looks of Shadow’s lovely photo’s I’d dare to say that my boy loves his picture taken, lol!
