Why is it that our Lord say’s, “Come as you are”.

I go to church and the message is don’t come here as long as I’m living like this. Smoking cigarettes and cannabis. I have struggled with smoking for over 44 years and I’ve been smoking cannabis for my anxiety and it works great, but, I am worn of the side effects, mostly the fatigue that accompanies cannabis.

I was going to a new church, one that has and preached the Lord’s Spirit. All I wanted was to fill myself with the Spirit of our Lord to help end this crap that I’m so tired of. But like usual you have to be black or white and smoking is definitely black, and in me there is no white. I feel hopeless as far as bettering my life this morning. It won’t last but why do churches have to be the opposite of what Jesus wanted. I’m sure coming as you are goes deeper than our clothes?
